Biography of M. Janet Bornancin |

Experienced in the area of organizational development, fundraising and grant making Ms. Bornancin has developed her expertise through over thirty years of experience in education, fundraising and not for profit leadership positions. Her not for profit experience includes work with all levels of employees and volunteers in a wide variety of organizations in the public and private sector. Her positions have included Executive Director of the Tree Research and Education Endowment fund and Teen Parent Connections, Board member of the Illinois' Governor's Task Force on Human Service Reform, Founder of two court service programs and Secretary of the Illinois' Lincoln Series Board of Directors, Founding President of the Junior League of Kane and DuPage Counties, and various leadership positions in the Junior League of Chicago.
Bornancin's previous organizational development experiences also include Chairman of the Local Area Network for Children and Adolescents, and the City of Naperville Children's Commission. Janet is certified by the Center for Creative Leadership, the Grant Maker's Institute of the Donor's Forum and has presented to the Association for Fundraising Professional's annual conference attendees.
Janet now leads the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund), an independent research and educational charitable organization. The mission of the TREE Fund is to identify and fund projects and programs that advance knowledge in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry to benefit people, trees and the environment.
Described as a visionary with a focus on excellence, Janet has participated on many strategic planning committees and is a mentor to several organization's leaders. Most recently as the TREE Fund Executive director she has utilized her skills and experience to design and facilitates board development for the TREE Fund Board of Directors, to manage the change within the TREE Fund and is exploring partnerships to increase the impact of the TREE Fund's grant making. |
